Client Spotlight: Vitasoy

Vitasoy

Two Guys, a Barn... and B2BGateway connect Vitasoy's soy based food and beverage products to 35 leading Retailers Nationwide

Vitasoy USA, Inc. chooses leading EDI solutions provider B2BGateway to connect with 35 retailers nationwide. Vitasoy USA, Inc. is one of the leading soy foods and beverage manufacturers in the United States and its products trade under recognized brand names such as Vitasoy, Nasoya, San Sui and Vita.

In April 1978, the Nasoya story began with two gentlemen producing tofu in a converted barn in Leominster, Massachusetts. Over the next twelve years, Nasoya moved to a state-of-the-art facility where creating upwards of 60,000 pounds of tofu per week became much more manageable. The ever increasing demand for health conscious food products propelled Nasoya's name and presence throughout America. In 1990, Nasoya was acquired by Vitasoy USA, Inc. allowing Nasoya to expand its product lines by offering Asian style noodles and wraps as well as Nayonaise, the first ever soy-based sandwich spread in the country.

As the business grew Vitasoy needed to become EDI compliant and also wanted to improve its overall supply chain processes. B2BGateway's fully integrated EDI solutions were a natural fit for Vitasoy, not alone would B2BGateway be able to handle all the EDI standards, protocols and transaction sets demanded by their retailers, but B2BGateway's integrated solutions would remove the need to re-key data thus improving Vitasoy's supply chain efficiencies. Now, with a line of entirely vegan and dairy-free products from Asian pasta to spreads to beverages, Vitasoy can be found in more than 35 major retailers nationwide, including Albertsons, Costco, Kroger, Supervalu, Target, Walmart and many, many more.

"There was a time where we were reluctant to set up accounts on EDI simply because we did not have the resources in-house," said Trade Spending Reporting Manager at Vitasoy, Glenn Caswell. "Partnering with B2BGateway has given us the edge to solicit accounts and use EDI processing in a value-added way. Zack, David, and Sheila are some of the folks that have been instrumental when it comes to assisting with questions and set up. I look forward to building on these experiences."
