Life is too short to try to over analyze the world around you. Some spend more time analyzing than actually experiencing that which is around them. I choose to experience and live in the moment but more on that a little later. Seems only logical to first introduce myself.
My name is Chris Argueta and I am the Manager for the Implementation Programmers as well as a Senior Programmer myself. I have been with B2BGateway approaching 3 years. I grew up in the smallest city in the smallest state, Central Falls, Rhode Island. Some of you may recognize this as the city actress Viola Davis grew up in. We are a small city but very proud to be from it. In the last 3 years at B2B I have been afforded the luxury of travelling to different parts of the world. It was a desire of mine for a very long time, but I have spent a good portion of last 8 years before joining B2B completing my education.
TRAVEL
Since joining B2BGateway, I have been afforded the luxury of traveling to places both domestically and internationally. Most of this travelling was alone and in backpacker style, staying in hostels and simply enjoying and exploring the world. I was able to travel to places like London, Paris, and Barcelona to name a few. I have met wonderful people along the way from different parts of the world like Brazil, Melbourne, and Hong Kong that I still speak to. I have been able to experience landmarks and places you only read about in books. The feeling you get when you see the Eiffel Tower for the first time or the Colosseum is what I love about traveling as well as interacting with different people and eating things that you do not think you would ever eat. Live in the moment is the way I look at it.
One experience I will forever remember was being able to bring my son Jayden who is 8 years old and my fiancé Jen along on one of these excursions. It was at the end of one of my trips to our office in Ireland. I was able to bring them both to Ireland. From there we flew to London and also got a chance to go to Florence and Rome. My son was able to experience some of the world’s many beauties in person. The trip opened his eyes to the pleasure that can be experienced by working hard and being motivated. It taught him history and geography before ever seeing it in books or movies. He told me a short time after this trip that they started talking about London and Rome in school and he was able to say “I have gone to both”. He was the coolest kid in school that day. And as a father that was something great that I was able to provide to him.
HOBBIES
 I am a very big sports guy. I play, watch, discuss, and just simply enjoy sports and that includes all types of sports from golf to American football. I have enjoyed the wonderful sport of hurling in my trips to Ireland. But to continue on with my traveling, I was able to travel to Munich on one of my trips. I am a big Bayern München fan. On this trip I was able to fulfill one of my dreams of seeing them live at the Allianz Arena in Munich. The trip was totally on a whim and it was one of the best experiences I have had as a sports fan.
In addition to that I have the luxury of having the greatest American football team in my area, the New England Patriots. I have been able to both enjoy watching this both at our home stadium and away. We travel well as supporters.
Other hobbies outside of sports include films, video games, and music. I loved films so much I even turned it into a bachelor’s degree. This should explain starting this with a quote from one of my favorite films. This year I was able to travel to Utah and complete another dream of mine of attending the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
So as you can see I love just exploring and taking chances. I simply just love to experience the world without the need to overthink it. I live in the moment.
WORK
Interestingly enough I am not as loose with my work as I am with living life. I plan everything I work on. I am extremely thorough with the work that I do. Some of my responsibilities at B2B include management of my team through both daily tasks and dealing with any issue that may arise during implementation process as well as working with my team on long term goals. I also train new programming employees on various internal systems that our teams may use. Finally and most importantly to me personally is the ability to still do quite a bit of programming and development. I help out with programming and test our new systems. I also handle quite a few of the more custom programming tasks and requests we may receive from our clients.
I love the logical and problem solving aspects of programming. I am very analytical with my approach to it and think with a very mathematical mind. If you haven’t figured it out yet, this is what makes A Beautiful Mind so interesting to me. That idea that I do not have to approach everything analytically and that mindset was foreign to me not too long ago. But now I have found that balance.
