MEET THE STAFF - KENT JORDAN

image Hello! My name is Kent Jordan. I am a new addition to the Sales Team at B2BGateway. I work as a Business Development Representative at our Rhode Island headquarters. I moved to New England from California and live in the old mill town of Pawtucket. My home is in an old jewellery box factory that was recently converted to artist's lofts. It is haunted and every tenant has a ghost story to tell. My ghost likes to shake my bed at three in the morning. Good times. I feel at home in Rhode Island because I see lots of surfboards strapped to the cars on the freeway in the summer time. I love the ocean and enjoy sailing, surfing and my weekly yoga classes at our local YMCA. I have a 15 year old son, Maxwell. He loves to skateboard, snowboard and race Go Karts. When I visited our EU office in Shannon, Ireland I went Go Kart racing in Limerick with our staff there (they are good drivers!) so now my son thinks I'm cool again.

EARLY SPORTS LIFE AND TIME IN HOLLYWOOD
imageI grew up playing football and basketball and I had a brief career in the NFL that was cut short due to injuries. I later worked as a stunt man in a couple of action films and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. It was all very exciting. And what does all of that excitement get me? A sore lower back on cold winter mornings and an occasional film residual for $1.23. Sometimes I get three or four of them a year!

ART
imageI have been a digital artist and printmaker for over 25 years with a focus on abstract expressionism. I started working in this format before Photoshop was even invented. What? Really? Yeah, you can do the math. I'm not a kid any more. But I am oh so wise! (or at least one would hope). The good news is, after a long period of development, digital art is finally accepted as fine art and on display in the major art centers around the world. What's next? I was a part-time selling artist in California and in the process of building an art market on the east coast. I hear there is this place a few hours from here called New York where art is kind of a big deal. Perhaps someday when I retire from sales I can bust a move there?

WORK
imageAs a new staff member at B2BGateway I enjoy learning about the EDI industry and working with other staff members that 1) Care about our clients and 2) Support each other every day across every single department. I think that is our secret to success. Many of our employees have been here a long time and that speaks volumes about our company culture. The best thing about selling is the process of informing a new prospect about EDI and what we do, and then bringing them on board as a client. At that point they become part of the B2BGateway family, and knowing that I played a small part in that is very satisfying.
