I grew up in Dublin on the East Coast of Ireland. I’m the eldest of five children the youngest being 15 years behind me – a fact that she loves to remind me of constantly! Being the eldest has pros and cons in that I had to break all the rules first to pave an easy life for my four siblings but it made me highly independent and articulate from a very young age. I started properly walking and talking well before most toddlers would and apparently according to my hubby I still haven’t learned to shut up! Thankfully this “gift of the gab” as we call it has been put to good use giving me a highly successful career in sales before joining B2BGateway 18 months ago ( they still can’t shut me up either !) I guess you could say that I’m a city girl turned country as I now live on the West Coast of Ireland in Co Clare, 20 minutes from the B2BGateway EU office based beside Shannon Airport – you know where we are now so no excuses – pop in for coffee !
Pets:
I love animals and I have a one year old Golden Retriever who is gorgeous but slightly lacking in brain cells and I have a three year old Cairn Terrier who is highly
intelligent but looks like a rat with long hair. I also seem to feed half the neighbours dogs and cats !!!!
Hobbies/Interests:
I’d love to be able to tell you that I’m a fitness fanatic but the truth is I’d rather have my toenails pulled off without anesthetic than go on a hike no matter how fabulous the scenery is here! However I am slowly learning to

make friends with my exercise bike in the hope that I might progress to one that actually moves outdoors! Strangely enough I do enjoy windsurfing and sailing even though I’m rubbish at it and I am starting team rowing at the beginning of January – providing my New Year’s Resolutions last past the 7th of January !!! My real passion in life is creative writing. I am in the middle of writing two novels and have been for the past 12months – it will probably be 12 years before I complete them though :). I also love painting and Interior Design.
Music:
This always confuses people – I love so many different types of music from Dance to Florence and the Machine and yes a bit of opera thrown in every now and again.
Favorite Food:
I know you’re all going to expect me to say “potatoes” or “soda bread” being Irish but no - shock horror I love Thai and French food oh and I’m a total sucker for Christmas Plum Pudding. Throw a bottle of Rioja in with that too please and I’m in heaven !
Approach to work:
It is hugely important for me to be able to provide the best service I can to my EU clients. Most of my day is spent project managing different teams so that we can get trading relations set up as quickly and as efficiently as possible. I still love the reaction of clients when I train them for the first time on how to use our solutions and they are shocked at the speed and simplicity of a process they found over- whelming before bringing us on-board. Obviously from my background I am still passionate about the sales aspect of my job. The past 18 months since I started with B2BGateway have been the largest learning curve of my working career and have given me a huge understanding of the Supply Chain Industry and an in depth knowledge and fascination for the many varied messaging formats that we use in the EU. It’s a very challenging job but highly rewarding especially when I see my client’s businesses grow and grow while we are all experiencing recessionary times – hard work and passion are the only way to go !
