Ibex sources most of its wool from New Zealand; however, the company is expanding its domestic supply chain and is now sourcing some of its wool from the United States. Rambouillet sheep from the 100-year-old, Montana-based Lehfeldt ranch produce the ultrafine wool which is combed, scoured and spun in the Carolinas before being sent to the Ibex factories in northern California where it is cut and sewn into fine garments. “The impact of being able to expand our U.S. production to encompass our entire supply chain means that we can be more hands on in every process along the way – from the farm to the finished garment,” said John Fernsell, founder and CEO of Ibex. “And ultimately, that means higher quality garments,” he noted.
